Gradings are dependant on a variety of factors

The age & grade of the student. 

The minimum lesson attendance & time required between gradings.

The student's understanding of the techniques required & the student's consistant & improved performance of these techniques. 

The level of the class attended (age class, grade class, open class etc). 

Holiday camps attended. 

Focused techniques (clinics) sessions attended. 

The frequency of home practise.

Private or Group Private Lessons attended

The student's spirit & focus in class, positive behaviour & attitude to other students & teachers.

Grading FAQ'S

Q. Why is my child not grading?

A. The student may not be ready to grade (the student may not have achieved the minimum time or lessons required between gradings). The student's class Instructor may feel that, although the student meets the minimum requirements of time, lessons, technique and knowledge, they are not yet fully prepared to undertake the grading exam; this could be due to focus, attitude, maturity or confidence.
