What to Wear to your Class
& The SHMA Uniform
All Students in Primary School may train in their school PE KIT or a suitable plain T-shirt/jogging bottoms for the duration of their first school term. Upon booking further term classes, all Students (in Primary School ) are required to have a SHMA uniform.
All Students Year 7 or higher may train in a suitable plain T-shirt/jogging bottoms for their 1st month of training. Commencing their 2nd month of training all students (Year 7 & higher) are required to have a SHMA uniform.
The SHMA Uniform is the only Martial Arts uniform allowed to be worn; this is due to student uniformity. Our uniforms have the South Korean & United Kingdom flags embroidered on the sleeves and our SHMA logo embroidered on the back. The Orange patch displayed on the left breast is our association patch - The Educational Martial Arts System. This association patch is presented to students upon promotion to 10th Gup (Yellow Belt).
Uniforms can be brought & worn at any time during the student's 1st term / 1st month. To buy your uniform please go to our website shop. Please note that that there are 2 uniform items; 100-140cms (£28) & 150-200cms(£30).
Our uniforms are a mixture of Cotton and Polyester: Do not wash your uniform above 40 degrees & never tumble dry; this is to avoid the uniform shrinking excessively - most uniforms will shrink slightly on the 1st wash. After the 1st wash, you will most probably need to adjust the Trouser Hems; sometimes the cuffs will need to be adjusted. Trousers hems must be sewn & not rolled up. This is for student safety & student presentation.
If you do need to wash the belt (fallen off into a puddle), please wash the belt by hand to avoid any colour run from the belt.
